The Spitfire Fiddle Band
Nissa’s String Academy is proud to host the community-based Spitfire Fiddle Band—a lively group dedicated to celebrating and cultivating fiddle music in a welcoming environment. We offer both Spring and Summer 6-week sessions.
Our repertoire features old-time fiddle tunes, explored in a fun and laid-back yet productive setting. The studio provides all learning materials, and members are encouraged to practice and listen outside of rehearsals to grow their skills.
The Spitfire Fiddle Band is open to all ages and skill levels—come join the fun and be part of the music!
Why Fiddling?
Fiddling is a great way to develop aural skills, hone creativity and share music with others. This style of music embraces many cultures and has been passed on from generation to generation.
Over the past decade, fiddling has become a welcome part of formal and informal music training. It is different from classical music with its own characteristics, sounds and difficulties.

SFB performs at all Nissa’s String Academy recitals, and will make decisions about other performances.
